Dual Language Immersion Parents of San Juan Bautista

We meet the 3rd Thursday in Sept, Oct, Jan, and Feb. at 6 pm in the library.

Our next meeting is September 15th.

DLIP of SJB for short...we promote and support students in San Juan Bautista in preschool-12th grade to become multilingual, multiliterate, and multicultural.
 
The goals of our parent organization also include:
 
  • Provide additional classroom resources for bilingual education in our Dual Language Immersion Program (DI).
  • Provide extra-curricular multi-cultural experiences for San Juan students.
  • Promote and support the  8th Grade Seal of Biliteracy and Advanced Spanish instruction for Middle School students.
  • Advocate for Anzar High School for multiple World Languages, AP World Language courses, the California State High School Seal of Biliteracy, and Foreign Exchange Students to and from the school.

 

To help us reach our goals we:

  • Volunteer in the classroom and other school programs.
  • Organize and host the Annual Central Coast Spanish Spelling Bee.
  • Provide supplementary funds for teacher's Professional Development in dual language theory as needed.
  • Fundraise for the DI program and classroom resources such as:

              *Additional bilingual classroom supplies and Spanish books

              *Incentives for reaching Spanish reading goals in AR

              *Incentives for passing Spanish spelling tests

              *Spanish field trips

              *Fingerprinting for parent volunteers

              *5th grade DI graduate certificates and gift

              *8th Grade Seal of Biliteracy certificates and gift

Dual Language Immersion Program Volunteer Forms

The DI program requires a minimum of 10 hours of volunteering a school year per family.

By volunteering, you not only help your own child to succeed, but you help other children as well.
